Privacy Policy
Applicability of this privacy policy
We are committed to protecting your privacy and information to the best of our ability, in line with industry standards and applicable law.
This privacy policy applies to anyone who has visited our website or interacted with our products and services in any way. This includes, but is not limited to, visiting our website or our physical offices, buying or using our products or services, and contacting us directly through our communication platforms or through third-party communication tools.
Scope of this privacy policy
This privacy policy must be read together with our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy, and applies to our customers.
Policy matters related to employees, collaborators, affiliates, and business partners are governed by separate agreements signed with each of them individually.
What types of information does ThriveDesk collect?
We collect several types of information from site visitors and customers. Broadly, they fall into two categories: a) personal information and b) non-personal information. We collect and use non-personal information far less often.
Personal information
Most of the information we receive is personal, such as your name, registered email address, contact information, company name, mailing address, and geolocation.
Non-personal information
Any other information that is not personal is treated as non-personal information. This includes the website you visited before ours, how you interacted with our pages, emails, and screens, the links you clicked, and how long you stayed.
We do not collect or store your credit card or any other financial information. That information is processed by payment gateways.
How does ThriveDesk use your information?
ThriveDesk uses your information for the following purposes:
- To provide our services, we process both your personal and non-personal information, for example to create, manage, and administer your ThriveDesk account and to carry out our obligations under our terms of service.
- To keep our service running well, we need to communicate with you regularly: to give you customer support, answer your questions, warn you about possible threats, help you fix a security risk, or send you marketing content.
- To improve our services, we may analyze your traffic patterns and trends and monitor usage.
- From time to time, we may analyze your information to protect the interests and security of the ThriveDesk platform if a situation arises that may amount to a violation of our terms of service.
- We may need to process your information to cooperate with government agencies or to meet a legal obligation required by applicable law.
Does this policy apply to links to other websites?
ThriveDesk is only responsible for the data and information collected on its own platform and website. We take no responsibility for websites we do not own or operate. If you follow a link from our website to another website, that website’s privacy policy applies, not ours.
Could my information be transferred to other countries?
Your information could be transferred to other countries where our remote employees are based. That information is still retained and processed within our servers and systems, and it will not be disclosed publicly except as required by this privacy policy and our terms of service.
Individual data subject rights: access, portability, and deletion
We are committed to helping our customers meet the data subject rights requirements of the GDPR. ThriveDesk processes and keeps all personal data with DPA-compliant providers that have been thoroughly reviewed. We store all conversation data for up to 5 years unless your account is deleted or your subscription is canceled. In that case, we dispose of all data in accordance with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and we will not hold it for longer than 60 days.
If you work with EU customers, you need to be able to let them access, update, retrieve, and remove their personal data. You can search for and delete any end user’s conversations in the help desk. If you need to export your end users’ data in a machine-readable format, you can do so through our Inbox API (coming soon). Our customer support team can answer any questions you have about working with the API.
Read our guide on how to delete user data.
Do not track
We do not interfere with browser features that let a customer stop ThriveDesk from collecting data, if the customer chooses to turn them on.
Amending or correcting your data
Customers can amend or correct their personal data from their own accounts. For any data that cannot be changed from the customer portal, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
ThriveDesk reserves the right to amend this privacy policy at any time. Customers will be notified of any changes by email and through a notification in the portal. This page will also be updated, and once an amendment has taken place, the previous version of the privacy policy will be kept in an archive linked from here.
Customers are also free to check this page for any changes made to this privacy policy.
